Anyone have a detailed explanation on how to take apart a cooey 39 bolt? Im getting light strikes after my dad borrowed it. I think a fragment of the firing pin my have been broken off. I cant seem to figure out how it comes apart

I have been trying to find the same info.
The best I can find is that the guide pin (the nub that sticks out which guides the bolt in the receiver and also locks it on safe when you pull back and rotate it) has to be pulled out then it just comes apart.
I cannot confirm this and I do not want to force the part.

Pull the cocking piece back, and look at the end of the portion with the bolt handle. See the little slotted retainer? Make a tool to unscrew this. Then you can remove the back half of the bolt assembly.
A M39 firing pin is retained by a cross pin that is hidden by the extactor. To get at it, it is necessary to remove the extractor. Pry the hook out, and lever the extractor forward. Really good chance of breaking it in the process. It is a good idea to have a spare available before attempting removal.
These Cooey bolts are almost semi-permanent assemblies. Good luck.

Can you see that a part of the firing pin is broken off? It is just a very small, very short floating pin. Try flushing the bolt out with a good solvent, the lightly lubing it.

Spot on I just did mine the retaining pin was broken and extractor did break when I took it out. The retaining pin can be made up if you cant find a replacement . The extractors sell for about $22 bucks

Thank you for the step by step. I dont know what he did to it. Just noticed my 300 wm i lent him was modified by manner of a bandsaw so he could put a limbsaver on my synthetic stock. He took the liberty of shortening it as well. Guess hes getting a 300wm for fathersday! Its so short i cant shoot it anymore
