Cooey 39: Is this a safety hazard? Repair options?

Hey guys so I noticed some barrel damage in my newly acquired 39 and was wondering how significant it is and what kind of repairs would be recommended. The damage is about 1/2" deep. Thanks!



 
I don't know what you're talking about, there is not apparent damage at all. As previously mentioned that recess on the breech face is for the extractor. A cursory glance at how the gun works would tell that immediately.

Haha, well thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback without the newb flaming! I haven't shot it and it was pretty dirty when I got it, I gave it a good cleaning and there was a significant amount of dirt in there, When I went at it with the tooth brush so much came out I felt like it was "crumbling" apart. I removed the bolt when I cleaned it and haven't bothered putting it back in yet, should have thought about that! Thanks again!
