Cooey 39 Time Capsule

I don't know if anyone would find this interesting, but I recently purchased a Cooey 39. It was in pretty good shape with some surface rust. Nothing too dramatic. As is customary, I took it apart to give it a good once over. Under the butt plate, one of the previous owners placed a slip of paper with his name and address. I was able to google him and turned up a brief history of the man. Just goes to show that we are merely stewards for our firearms and, God willing, they will end up in conscientious hands when we part with them.



It would appear that some manner of wearhouse is now on the property.

Hopefully in my case nobody ever puts the information online without some redaction. If he is a member here, is this breaking the rule?

“If he’s a member”, guy died in 87, and the posted information came from Google.

After you die, there is a good chance someone will post your obituary on here. Have you ever seen the memorial section of this site? They post them of members after they pass away.
