I've got an old Cooey 39 and looked on the Weaver web site and they only list the side mount and I want to put top mounts on.My 22 isn't tapped at all.Anyone know what # bases could be used ?
Thanks !

Local 'smith did a few before closing their doors a couple of years ago. The last couple were a one piece, aluminum base, and he'd cut a notch out of them for easier loading. Pretty certain it was 4 taps right down the middle to retain them.

Although it's a pretty long thread, there are a few scoped Cooeys in the Cooey Makeover thread that might provide inspiration.

Still looking for mount # for my old cooey.I looked through the cooey make-over thread but couldn't see any mount #'s.Can anyone let me know what # mount you used and if it was a 1pc or 2 pc mount ?
Thanks !

i just finished mounting [drilled and tapped ] my COOEY mod, 60 receiver to install a WEAVER 92A TOP MOUNT BASE [one piece] $15.99 for the base ..installed weaver rings and scope ..did not want a side mount with a small diameter scope ..

i did the same thing for my mod. 39 COOEY ...the hardest part is making sure that the base is dead center ..on the barrel ..

You do know the sheet metal side mts. came in 3/4" ,7/8" + 1" rings? Weaver two piece side mt plate and rings still made in 1" I have one on a model 60 with a 2.5 K Weaver scope.........Harold

I know they still make the 1" side mounts but at $50+ for that plus the drill and tap cost just using a top mount is a lot cheaper in the end
Thanks though !
