So I finally had my cooey model 60 shipped to me from my parents and iam excited to play with gun again. I refinished it when I was 14 and I am 32 now so it's been sitting around for a while. So my question is how hard is it to disassemble the bolt on these because now that I know more about guns and such I've figured out why it was always so hard to load this gun. The firing pin has been peened and is sitting out a 1/32" from the bolt face from repeated dry fire I'd guess. Iam going to load up a couple pics here in a bit and see if I can find a replacement for the old one.

Mine the was relatively easy to disassemble.

Tottally going off the top of my head,

1. remove bolt
2. There is a round "lug" which appears to be part of the rear bolt, it isn't. Take some pliers, and rotate that a bit and it should pop out, it's a cross pin thing
3. The read of the bolt should slide off.
4. You will need to contruct some sort of special pliers for this next bit. But you need to unscrew a little goofy nut inside the front of the bolt, which that rod holding on the rear of the bolt goes through. IIRC I made a special tool out of a (1/4"???) nut by grinding it down so there where two "fingers". That should give you access to the firing pin screw, and the firing pin.

This is all off the top of my head as I haven't touched the bolt in years.

Maybe somebody here could confirm that this maybe isn't a stock firing pin. After cleaning the bolt up it doesn't look peened just tapered. Yes I pulled off the extracter . .

Thanks guys for the help. I cleaned it up good today, took about two hours to get all the old dried on crud off . Once I put it all back together I played with the tension of the assembly screw and ran ten snap caps through it and it seemed to function much better. As I recall you had to kind of repeatedly jerk the bolt back to get the round onto the bolt where it lined up with the chamber. Now I just need to find the time on next days off to go shoot it. I also need to make a new but plate as apparent a 14 year old me lost the original one.
