Pulled this old thing out of the attic of the barn, looks like the knob just came off.Was this a common problem? and about how much would this cost to fix?

You dont need another receiver you just need another bolt. Its not rare, thats one of the early cooey 600's without the rabbit stock. A new bolt is going to run you about $45-50. A cooey in that shape is worth 50-75 without the broken bolt.

Sorry to say but I think you might as well look for another rifle unless you can find a bolt for next to nothing. If the bore is as bad as the outside, then for sure it isn't worth spending any money on.

Or maybe you could contact Camster's custom bolt handles!!!:D:D:D

lol its my uncles old gun i was thinking of fixing it and giving it to him since hes long forgotten about it. Im just gonna give it to him next time hes here its taking up room in my 10 gun stack-on.

saw 2 bolts for a model 60 at the saskatoon gunshow a couple weeks ago, 25 each. a guy had a box of cooey bolts at the martinsville show at the start of winter, 10 bucks each. Go check out some shows in your area, im sure you will find what your looking for.

lol

I'm swamped with orders (I should break the link to the pic of my "Franken-knob") for "finery". I'm pretty certain OP's uncle might take offense to such a knob on his rifle!

As stated a few times already, it's not just the bolt knob, but the whole handle. I think it's actually a "locking lug" on these rifles so test firing may give some nasty surprises.

They are an abundant rifle, an ad in the EE will get you some replies, no doubt. Fitting a bolt is also something to bear in mind too...sometimes they drop right in, but usually fitting is required.

I hope my nephew is inspired by this though...Uncle Camster sees the merit to hat you're doing!

Im going to get a bolt once i have some extra money, i just fired it and it didnt blowup in my face so its worth fixing.

H:S:How in hell did you fire it without a bolt handle to lock it closed< nothing to hold it to #### it and if you managed to fire it--:yingyang:thank your lucky stars you dont have half a cooey bolt protruding from where your eye used to be;)
