mean mike...sorry,I don't have a schematic.

...ejector spring fits into tiny hole and, grooove on left side of barrel (9 'o'clock). There is a corresponding groove in bolt that this spring/wire fits into. The bolt should slide free over ejector.
Easily deformed/broken twisting/torquing barrel out of receiver. If it's just deformed, you can bend it back into shape.

In this pic, the left-end should fit into barrel...the bolt passes over it (from the right). The tip is broken on this wire (I think...worked ok for 25 years...). I did "upgrade/bubba" my 64 to accommodate the flat-plate style of ejector. Wasn't necessary but, an exercise...

64A Ejector Spring

Camster, do you know how long the tip at left should be?

Mine might be broken as well. If so is it possible to get another one?

What's an upgrade "Bubba" to a flat style?

Thanks again, Meanmike

I'm not certain what the tip should look like...mine was like this for 20+years use. I had to replace it when a buddy tried to install it backwards and, deformed it..
For me (even with broken tip) the hole and, groove in the barrel was enough to retain it.

These can still be found. My local smith (PM for contact info) was going to get me an original wire replacement. It was going to take 5 whole days (and, I think 12$'s)...I will never claim to be patient.

By the era of 64B, the wire styled ejector was replaced with a flat plate. The groove in the barrel and, "ejector-retaining-hole" (can claim to be creative with descriptions) had to be **very carefully** drilled a bit larger. Honestly, for cost and, effort in, I'd wait the 5 days for an original part. It was neat exercise for me but, certainly not "clever". For functionality, there is no improvement with the flat plate style, only greater abundance. (still in production today)
