Cooey 64 Mag conversion

the new mag and magwell can be bought from Savage Arms direrctly and very cheaply. Gooogle for contact phone numbers.
Fellow CGN'er Gairlochain(sp??) had one[mag-well] listed. Just before Christmas, I'd PM'd regarding availability...
The rifle I was looking at has since sold. So, I'm guessing fellow CGN'er still has it. Awesome to deal with with quick replies. It was reasonably priced.
I'm not sure if the barrel clamp/retaining clip needs to be swapped with the mag-well....

Not real new.
50+ years ago, Cooey went from the original plastic magazines to the "current" metal style...
Many of the originals are still out there but, the plastic magazines are in very short supply (and, generally not as durable as the metal ones)

The model 64 was such a huge success that they did not need to upgrade it in any way. thousands upon thousands sold and many of them are still operating like nwe today. The metal mag and magwell was a good upgrade and as far as i am concerned. the only one necessary. My old first issue plastic mag model stiil has no problems .
