Hi,
Not that familiar with Cooeys. Fellow I know has a never fired, new in box with original paperwork, Cooey Model 64 for sale. Any idea of ballpark value given it is NIB. Guess it came out of an estate, where most the guy’s guns were from the 60s, all new in box.
Thanks.
Matt

Yes it is. I saw the gun over the weekend. Appears to have never been out of the box, but who knows. Don’t believe it was ever fired though. Box was like new. Original pamphlet included, and it has the metal magazine which I just read about. He wants $275. Guess that is not out of line.
Thanks,
Matt

Not sure what the hell a “sell up” is, just trying to find out if his price is fair. I need to replace my rusted up old 22 bolt action. Never had a semi, and this has come a long.
To that end, I wouldn’t mind hearing from current or past owners about the accuracy of thes guns.
Thanks,
Matt

I just purchased one that is in pristine condition. Not a mark on the stock and just one rub mark on the barrel. No box, and maybe 2 boxes of shells thru it according to the friend I bought it from. Happily paid $200 for it. As for accuracy, I am NOT a marksman, but I put all 10 in the black at 25m. Haven't had the chance to take it to a longer range as of yet. And I have heard from several others that these are extremely accurate rifles. I don't think you will regret the purchase.

I have never seen a cooey that would not shoot great, and if you have trouble it is most times worn out mags. if they had match sights, the longer ones would shoot right up there with the expensive stuff.

Thank you for all that insight. Guess this is a 64A or B as it has the metal clip. Sounds like they are good little rifles, I think I will buy it. I did own a little 39 bolt action once, enjoyed shooting it. No, I did not see that Cooey sticky, I will certainly check it out. Maybe that will also give me an idea of when it was made. More of a Winchester lever guy, so must admit I don’t frequent this section very often.
Thanks again.
Matt

I think pristine, old/unused guns are a curse..not a blessing. lol I'm not really a fan of the Cooey 64, but lots of guys are. Either way, I don't see that model every really appreciating a ton but left in that condition, may double in value in a decade or two. Hard to say, a ton were made..most recently by Savage. Anyhow, given it's condition and that a box is included...I'd be hesitant to shoot thing if it were mine, but I'm not for a moment suggesting it's a bad idea.

if it's a 64 and metal mag it has been converted and not original.look for a spring type(paper clip looking) ejector.

the 64 had the spring type ejector and plastic mag.the 64b has a stamped steel ejector and metal mag.i'm not sure what a 64 a has but i think it's the spring steel type.

if it's for collecting and not shooting then it might be worth it--seems pricey for a 64.

if it's for shooting then i say pass--you can pick up a used good condition for about 125 bucks.
also, they may be accurate but due to a tight chamber they'll start to jam around 200-250 rounds if not cleaned.
