OK, here's the problem- Picked up a very nice looking 64B action a while ago, with a plastic Savage stock. Had it out for the first time to try after sitting in the cabinet for a long time, and it fired one round fine- then won't fire again. It feeds, extracted the first round and chambered the second- but the trigger won't pull- something is jammed and preventing it from firing. I extracted and fed another round but the trigger won't work again, seems to be jammed. What should I look for first?

Wonder if the mag well screws are a bit long rubbing on the bolt?
They ain't overly complicated.

[/URL]Thanks for the photoz, I'm sure the mag well screws are fine as I checked that over when it was apart, and bolt seems to cycle all the way back and forth OK. Just wondering if there's something else I need to watch out for, may be an issue with the trigger assembly?

What ammo are you using? 64's can be finicky cycling. What you describe is exactly how mine will behave with Winchester Ammo. Just not enough oomph to reset sear.
Some quick n' easy things to try:
-Pick a round nosed Ammo (Some other CGN'ers report that their rifles love Winchester, mine certainly don't so try a couple types)
-Make sure the rifle is clean. Get used to a complete tear-down n' cleaning every 500-1000rds
-Run it dry. Seems counter intuitive with metal on metal. Every few years I'll try some sort of different lube, and regret it once it starts jamming.
If those don't help, or your trigger still won't reset give the assembly a good looking over... Some folks have attempted to adjust trigger pull by shimming between receiver n' trigger group, and this can lead to a runaway 64. If that has happened the sear can get beat up badly very quickly. Take some pics of your trigger assembly from the side showing the protrusions for the reset and sear.

Blazer, fired one round but then trigger stuck. I took it apart last night, screws are fine, bolt cycles fine it seems, but trigger assembly seems jammed. May be something internal? I'll fiddle with it a bit tonight, but not interested in investing any money into parts.

With the gun empty rack the bolt. Then pull and HOLD the trigger. With the trigger still held back simulate the recoil by cycling the bolt with your other hand. Now test the reset by slowly releasing the trigger. You should hear or feel some sort of click from or through the trigger as it's released. If it doesn't do so then it's not resetting and your problem is in the trigger group.
