Cooey 75 Gunsmith

I believe the extra large firing pin lookin piece is a large firing pin. The extractor lookin piece is the extractor.

All your buddy needs is some 0000 steel wool, a tube of epoxy, a cold bluing kit, a bottle of circa1850 stripper, an iron, and a bottle of boiled linseed oil. Strip the stock, steam the dents, glue the cracks, and rum with oil. Clean thoroughly, and reblue with the cold reblue. A bonus item to have is a heat gun, the bluing takes better if the steel is almost uncomfortable to handle. There are various tutorials on here, on milsurps.com in the restoration section, youtube...

He'll have a way better appreciation for his grandfather's old cooey, and that piece of history that was his grandpa's is now grandpa's AND his, because of what he just put into it.

Well, i'm doin' just the 'lovin' part.. which I was going to do anyways.
The barrel needs to be reblued, but that's probably out of my buddies budget.

Is this what the bolt is supposed to look like?
I'm not a big rimfire guy, but is the bolt pin the thing that looks like the extractor?

Thanks

soak it in oil. do not take apart. wont be able to put it back together
the tooth looking part is the extractor. the round part is the firing pin. it only moves when bolt is pulled apart.

Thanks guys, I think i'll take it out to the range and see if she fires later today.

Hopefully everything works out ok, i'll update with some finished pictures, although it's not much of a change other than getting the crap out of the rifle.
