Hey everyone looking for some advise on what I can do about my cooey 75 having rough bolt action.
Even with fine machine oil it is still rough no difference using CLP or Remington oils.
Could polishing the action help with this?
if so what do you suggest I use to do this?
Thanks for your help

Take the bolt out and scrub the inside of the receiver good with a tight fitting shotgun bore brush, 20 ga. I think.
Take the action out of the stock and make sure the trigger has room to move and scrub it also, and then oil it.

When you say rough action, what are you referring to? The trigger pull, the lifting of the bolt or the pulling it back and sliding it forward and down. Don't mess with the trigger unless you know what to do, but if it is just not that smooth to work the bolt, try this. Remove the bolt by opening bolt and checking chamber to make sure nothing is in the chamber, if nothing is in the chamber, with bolt still open pull trigger and while holding trigger pull bolt from gun. Now if you polish the bolt with #ooooo steel wool with oil on it you should be able to remove all the crud that has accumulated over the years but not remove any metal from the bolt. Now with the bolt removed , hold the trigger down or back and slide that oily piece of steel wool back and forth into the receiver where the bolt would go, when that is all clean , flush it out with one of the spray cleaners, oil it and see how smooth it is. Not a lot of effort and it might work. Don't try to polish it with anything but the finest steel wool, you are trying to clean it not remove metal.

If the bore brush fits as mentioned above, try putting the brush in a drill (brass brush so as not to remove metal)
I did this for a choke tubs that was very rough going back in! Worked.

Try cleaning the bolt & action & then coating the bearing surfaces of the bolt with JB bore cleaning compound. Then work the action until you feel it smoothing out. This may take many opening & closing cycles of the bolt.

Clean the bolt & action of all the residue & re lube with a quality lube such as BreakFree CLP.

JB bore cleaning compound is a very mild abrasive & is available in most well stocked gun shops.

My model 75 is also having similar problems. It's extremely extremely accurate, but hauling the bolt back, it jams up(if I pull back on the ball on the lever). If I pull back at the base of the lever, it comes back fine. Any ideas?

Push it in slowly, say about 10 second's in and 10 second's out.
You don't have to have the drill running full out when you do it,do it 3-4 time's and then wipe it out. Try the bolt and see how well it slide's back and fourth.
If it's still binding try it again. You shouldn't have to do it then 3-4 time's to see result's.
And do it somewhere you can get dirty, the brush WILL throw out a fine mist of what-ever is in the receiver.
Make sure you wipe it out well and put a couple drop's of oil and cycle it a couple time's when your done.
