When you say rough action, what are you referring to? The trigger pull, the lifting of the bolt or the pulling it back and sliding it forward and down. Don't mess with the trigger unless you know what to do, but if it is just not that smooth to work the bolt, try this. Remove the bolt by opening bolt and checking chamber to make sure nothing is in the chamber, if nothing is in the chamber, with bolt still open pull trigger and while holding trigger pull bolt from gun. Now if you polish the bolt with #ooooo steel wool with oil on it you should be able to remove all the crud that has accumulated over the years but not remove any metal from the bolt. Now with the bolt removed , hold the trigger down or back and slide that oily piece of steel wool back and forth into the receiver where the bolt would go, when that is all clean , flush it out with one of the spray cleaners, oil it and see how smooth it is. Not a lot of effort and it might work. Don't try to polish it with anything but the finest steel wool, you are trying to clean it not remove metal.
