Cooey 750 trigger guard question

So the plastic trigger guard on my 750 is cracked, does anyone know if the metal guard from a model 60, or any other of the metal ones will fit without having to make new holes?
 
I had this happen and my buddy found a 3D printer file to make a new one. He tried a few different PLA materials, we left them in a freezer to see how they handled the cold, and it worked out excellent.

Sorry I don’t have the file or the exact material used, I don’t know much about that stuff, but, 3D printed was the way to go.

Shoot me a PM, I may still have a couple laying around.
 
This is a common problem with Cooey plastics. Time, oil and the elements degrade them.
A trigger guard from a Cooey 60 will not work. You may be able to modify one from a 39 or 75 to fit.
 
My Marlin 60 has a plastic TG which is commonly know for breaking at the action-screw. I was able to put a Lepage gel Super-glue and it's held about 3 years so far. But I'm now vewwey caweful tightening that action. YMMV

At lot of guys have been finding a spoon or fork and using the handle part of make a better guard. My wifes got gold plated stuff and I have been eyeing that a lot.
 
One of the Gun Kinks solutions for this type of problem was to heat and reform barrel bands from military surplus rifles. Some judicious bending, cutting and drilling a hole where required usually resulted in an acceptable replacement

Hi leeaspell - The eternal battle with the later model Cooeys with plastic trigger guards. It's very common that they split, usually at the screws. The last on I had was a Cooey 600 with this issue.

Some retailers will sell a newer model Savage plastic trigger guard that screws right into place and is a pretty skookum type of plastic. I think it's from newer Savage Mark II models with wood/laminate stocks. Bob Fontaine from JR Cooey parts used to sell them, I think his business was bought out by a gent in the lower mainland area --- Cooey Everything - Darren Roufosse 604-250-1136. droufosse@eastlink.ca. Don't know if he sells the same ones.

You may be able to get them from Grech Outdoors in ON, who is distributor for Savage in Canada.

I asked on a local buy and sell if anyone had a 3d printer and what it would cost. Got a quote at $600 lol. Think I'll pass on that one
