Hello:

Any idea what the threading is for the peepsight screw mount on milled flat portion of the receiver? Have peep sight, no screw. So little threading there that afraid to experiment for fear of stripping (and you dont want to see me strip, believe it).

Cheers.

I think it would just be a standard fine threading. The peep sights weren't too precise!

I can't believe how hard it is to find screws nowadays. I need the front barrel band screw and nut and I have no idea where to find a simple flat head screw with a nut. These things can't be had anymore!

Try Lee Valley on Oxford St.? Or Home Hardware.
I can supply measurements and pics if needed. The screws should be blued.

For every type of screw made of every type of material, with every type of head, try Spaenur from Kitchener ON. (spaenaur.com) You usually have to order by the box, but they have it all. Otherwise, if you go to automotive supply shops, many of then get their hardware from places like PAPCO or other fastener suppliers.
I agree it's getting tough to find slot drive. I went to fastenall the other week looking for flat head screws with slot drive, and in the whole big warehouse they had nearly nothing...all phillips or robertson drive these days.

Should have gone with Robertson (Canadian... and yes I know its a wood screw).

Did you try matching the thread pitch up with taps yet? I suspect it'll a standard thread but you never know, did Canada use British threads back then? I don't think so but you never know. I was lucky enough that the Cooey M82 I bought, which had no peep sight, at least did have the screw in place.

Think albayo has a peep sight if you're looking for one.

Not had a chance to look yet, swamped with work. Didnt even make it to range last week and may not this week, terrible thing, time off in May though.
