Gentlemen, I have noticed that early Cooey models 84 have no access to the firing pin vis a drilled hole and plug screw as the later 84's and 840's have. In the event a firing pin needs to be replaced in the early model how is it done?

I've had a few done over the yrs.Had a smith drill and tap a hole in the same place as in the 840's.The old 84's were peened in and the 840's have the set screw.A good machinist could do it as well.
