Cooey 840 light hammer strikes

Well Rio and Gevolot would fire on the second try and Win AA fired as normal ? Shot a ruffy with the AA's but I don't think I'd trust the gun in a survival situation.
 
Is the rocker still suspect? All things considered..........................Funny after heat treatment the firing pin became magnetic? Is that normal?
 
With crap ammo you are trying to get the most hit out of the hammer spring assy... possibly a new spring but possibly you can alter the rocker so it is not stopping the hammer quite so soon... don't no about the magnetic thing...

At this stage why mess with crap ammo?
 
I tried to shoot a chicken with buddies 20 gauge Cooey and a rio shell that was in my pocket the other day and it wouldn’t fire. Tried it twice then slipped in a Winchester and it fired. The rios seem to work fine in my CIL. Figured his shotty had an issue, he said he’s never had a problem.
 
It's the ammo I guess........I've only got a few boxes of Rio #8 that work in all my other 20ga 's so I'll use them up on grouse and Huns then stick to other known reliable brands and my handloads. If you got the firing pin long enough to work on Rio ammo it would likely pierce primers on all the other brands.Rio primer pockets are all over the map in size as well/Cheddite primers.I'll just use e'm and lose e'm.
