I've been collecting cooeys for a number of years now. Plenty functional, some not.

I have a handful of Cooey Ace rifles that seem to have an issue where the barrel has backed out from the receiver just a smidge, just enough that the striker can't set off the round reliably. Were these things press fit, and would it be possible to press them down back into place? Just curious if any folks here know anything about such a thing.

The ones I have still have incredibly crisp barrels, but its that same issue again and again. I would love to get these functional again.

Thanks.

Isn't the barrel secured by the stud for the takedown screw? I expect the stud could be removed, the barrel set in place with a Loctite product and then the stud reinstalled. That should keep the barrel secure.

I've tried my rifles with a number of fitting bolts (I've got a lot), There is a visible gap on a couple of my cooeys between the receiver and the barrel itself, while most are normally quite flush up to that point, and those ones tend to fire.

I'll check if it is stud fit however. Thanks!

Yes the stud can be removed. Might need heat.

I have a single shot Cooey with a press fit barrel that came loose to the point it would not fire. Silver solder fixed up the old beater.
