i baught an old cooey 12ga break action off my buddy recently and every 4th or 5th shell wont eject. any chance polishing the chamber would fix it ? ive oiled up the ejector but it doesnt seem to be helping.

The issue doesn't happen to occur when shooting Winchester Universal shells by any chance?

yes.. is it inevitable with the cheap shells?

Try another brand of shells the winchester universals are terrible i've had them jam in all types of different guns. I've had good luck with other brands of similar price though federal and challenger to name a few.

Remington, Score, Challenger, Estate, Federal are all good choices.

A chamber polish will likely fix the issue. The aluminum like heads of the cheap shells likes to flow a little and any tooling marks in the chamber will be grabbed by the head.
