Cooey Collectors ?

Anybody who pays more than $100.00 for any kind of Cooey must have considerably more money than brains!!

Or more brains and knowledge than most. Show me a gun you paid $59 bucks for new and resold for $500 as I did last year with a cooey model 84 and probaly could have got more if I listed it
Some are good investments

Cheers

I must have missed the part where it says "collectors" can only be old guys wearing expensive clothes, and who ignore everybody in a social setting such as a gun show, speaking only with their old cronies.

Where do we apply for the privilege of calling ourselves a collector? Can collectors only collect real expensive, rare stuff? I have six or seven SKS's at home that likely won't be fired, by me anyway. Each is different from the others. I also have some uncommon rifles of military heritage, and a few rare, expensive rifles, also of military heritage.

To the Cooey collectors - have at it. I would love to get into some of the gun rooms around the country and look at those Cooeys. I appreciate your interest and zeal. Heck, I guess there are people who collect rocks, too! :p

I think with that statement you are at the end of the gangplank heading for deep water lol!!

I am very happily in the 21st century, as opposed to some who think these 1950,s budget specials are " collector " items, must be a lot of one table gun show people on here trying to glorify their " collector " guns to the very naive!

The quality of "budget specials" lies in how well they shoot. Some of the older Cooeys shoot very well indeed.

No you just don't have an understanding or clue what a NIB cooey model 84 in 28ga will bring today, and other than it was a good friend who wanted it for his collection I would have never let it go for that. My mistake was not salting away 50 or more of them at the time :(

Not a collector myself - just like simple, tried and true, all purpose firearms that southpaws can use. Personally, I am in the group that puts the value of these practical, proven shotguns from Cooey ( a la model 84, model 840 Winchester Cobourg gems) at $150 -$200. Hey! Your Grandpas used these things and if you are fortunate enough to be a Grandpa you can still use 'em.

I know nothing about Cooey's except they're Canadian.

And by the time I figure out what the good ones are to own, they will be too expensive to be a good buy any longer !

Funny thing, I have 6 or 7 Cooeys and not one is a shotgun! Time to remedy that methinks.

Nice one...Cooey is kind of a colloquial term used by Canadians when referring to a bolt action 22 rimfire. A lot of kids...including myself learned to shoot with a "Cooey".. My first shotgun was an 84 16 gauge that my dad bought at a pawn shop for 18 bucks. It was choked tighter than a bulls ass in fly season and kicked like a mule. Great gun for a beginner...
