Is there a proper technique to install a new extractor in a Cooey 75/82 model .22lr?

My first attempt I forced it into place but it bent the angle of the extractor doing so and attempting to re-bend it broke the extractor.
I've got a new piece but I haven't tried to install it yet, cant even find a youtube video!

I hold the bolt and push the end of the extractor straight in against a hard surface while lightly squeezing the middle of the extractor towards the bolt body with pliers... or with the bolt held in a vice, lightly squeeze the extractor against the bolt while lightly tapping the end of it lightly with a small hammer. Most of them are tricky but back when I was busy doing lots of them they were only $1.95.

Push the round endof extractor a ways into its round receiving hole. Get a small screwdriver and place it under the extractor in the space between the bolt body. Pressure up on the extractor with the screwdriver until the hook of the extractor can be seen to clear the bolt body. At same time tap on point of extractor with brass hammer to drive it home into position. Remember you are tapping an extractor under spring pressure.

I fashioned a special screwdriver to do the job. It is notched on one side of the flat to lift the extractor just the right height to clear the hook from the bolt body. Makes it foolproof every time.
