hi guys i came accross this gun and i know nothing about it. My co worker was doing work on his aging mothers house and when he tore a wall down there was this gun. He has no license and rather that give it to the fuzz he gave it to me. I just finished verifying and registering it. It is a cooey "Hiawatha" it has no serial number and it has a 73 cm barrel and a 10 shot tubular mag. Can anyone tell me more about this rifle? and maybe an idea of what this thing might be worth if i sell it.

Thanks

Hiawatha was made by Cooey for MacLeod's Ltd. of Winnipeg. If it has a tube it will be the same as the model 60. Value is not much, maybe $125.00 if in fairly good condition down to $50.00 or less if it is in rough condition.

The Cooey rebrands would actually make for an interesting collection.

I also know they rebranded the Model 60 as the 'Sure Shot Repeater' for Eatons stores.

Sure Shot was for Sears. In the early days, Eatonia was for Eatons and later switched to Ranger.
But yep, they make for an interesting collection of Canadiana firearm history. So hey guys, start locating these oldies and get them back to the forefront instead of in the closet!

hey thanks for all the info. very interesting. i havent shot it yet but maybe ill keep it! p.s. what is mcleods? never heard of the store
