This morning I bought an m82 from a local guy. He said he took off the forend 50+ years ago,he saved the wood but can't remember where the barrel bands are. So as you can guess my next question is,do you know where he might have left them? lol, or does anybody here have a spare set,or does one of the sponsers keep the items in stock? thanks

theres a place in edmonton..... racking my brain for the name..... western gun parts?
some old fella, grumpy as all hell, but has more parts then you can even dream up.
if i where looking for a old cooey part thats who id call first.

I just got off the phone with western gun parts, no parts. Anybody here have clamps that they may want to part with ? is this better posted in milsurps?

TBH they are just thin metal bent into shape around the gun, i could just take a couple pics for ya and you could probably just go to any metal fab shop and they could get ya a couple inches of soft bendable metal that you could cut to the same width and bend around the gun.

Was there different lengths of the middle bands? Mine seems narrower than some pictures I've seen. Also Ive noticed that the barrel sticks out past the stock a little on some but others it seems flush.

im guessing since these guns where made by hand 75 years ago there is probably a lot of difference between them.
plus with people doing home fixes and such over the years.
im positive my barrel band isnt the original.

There was a guy at the Truro Gun Show last year that had a box full of Cooey 82 parts.
The show is on 28 & 29th of this month. Some of the guys on this site from NS might know him and may be able to pick up one for you.
I have a few complete sets of 82 stocks and the metal. I will check if I have a surplus band in my parts.
Send me a PM tonight.

thanks

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Thanks albayo for your help and kind offer to check the local gun show. You guys live like me,treat people the way you like to be treated. The fellow in NWO is a good guy to deal with and has lots of surplus parts for canuck stuff. Cheers Wayne
