Guy's I picked up a bunch of rifles yesterday from an older chap. In it was a gorgeous old Cooey Model 39 in super shape with target sights. I was wondering if that could have come from factory like that or would it have been done later by someone. It has a front ramp with 4 flip up styles of front sight, and a fully adjustable rear peep sidemount. He said it was used when he got it and it came to him that way, so I had no way of checking it out further. I had no idea what to ask for it if I choose to sell it . Hopefully some of you fellows can lend some advice.
Thanks!
Al

I don't think it came from the factory like that as the front sight is from a Mossberg .22 target rifle. That rear sight is kinda cool but I have no idea where it came from.

Front sight is defffinitely a mossberg and is mounted backwards, you can see the 3/8 dovetail under it for the original front sight. i have a front sight just like it on my Mossberg Model 51. Perhaps the peep is from the same year gun, it was missing on mine.

Thanks Guys. Not hard to tell I am into Milsurps and not .22's. I knew something didn't look right with the front sight, but never picked up on the "backwards" appearance. Looks like someone robbed some sight parts off another gun/s to build a cheapy little target rifle. It is in fine shape though. Probably the sights are worth as much or more than the darned rifle though.

The gun did not come from the factory with the 2 tapped and drilled holes for the peep sight nor the hole in the barrel for the front sight mounting, whomever did this after the fact and thus rendering the gun to a "would I want it ?????" status
