Is there any special method to remove the bolt from one of these guns.I am having no luck with how I hold the trigger.I'm sure I'll feel stupid when I get the correct advice but after 15yrs of marriage I'll move on.Thanks.

Remove the stock. Loosen the bolt that tensions the mag tube up against the barrel. This will allow it to disengage from the bolt. Then squeeze the trigger as you remove the bolt to the rear.

Nope Gunsasurus, I wasn't even thinking in that direction. Thanks for taking a moment and saving a Cooey from a brick wall...lol.

I finally got around to removing the bolt from my model 600 and gave it a much needed cleaning. It's amazing how much junk builds up in the parts you don't see.

Next step... gotta get my scope sighted-in :)

mod 60

I have a question along the same lines as the original post -

I disassembled a model 60 recently to clean it up, removed the bolt just fine, but upon reassembly I now see that the tube mag is moving back and forth along with the bolt. I functions and shoots fine but I dont remember it ever doing that before? Is it designed this way or I forgot something?
Thanks a lot

Yep, it's designed that way. The whole tube mag moves back and forwards with the bolt.

Either that, or I damaged mine too. ;)

Hmm... interesting...
I guess you could use the tube at the front barrel band as an overall wear indicator!
The moving tube mag design makes sense however, as the loading port in the tube is partially covered by the stock if you try reloading with the bolt open.
