Cooey mod 82 vs Mossberg 151mb

Going to the range on Sunday to try out both rifles, Which one would you expect to be most accurate?

Mossberg gets my vote, but you never know. I had an 82 that shot about 3/4"-1" groups at 50m with the peep.

Love and owned both. My Money is on the '82 (single shot bolts are inherently accurate). Neat way to spend a day, and it might take 1000's of rounds to test 'em!

looks like your cooey has peep so I would say that. Mine has the peep removed and still shoots damn good.

Out of the dozens of old mossy .22 I've been through over the years, the full stocked ones all shot terrible for me. Not sure why they shot bad, but I ended up ditching them even though they were quite pretty.

My vote is for the Cooey, but ONLY if you have modded the trigger so it doesn't have the usual 3000lb trigger pull...

I will take the Mossberg for the winner. LOL I'm a little bias as I collect Mossbergs. Try CCI SV. Most of the guys on Rimfire Central seem to have great luck with it.

In have to go with the old 82, had one and sorry I sold it. She was a tack-driver, maybe I had a lucky one.

They are both good, but I'd think the Cooey is the better of the two.

I have a number of Mossbergs and Cooeys including the 2 examples shown. The Mossberg is a bit higher quality gun but not necessarly more accurate.

I was first to suggest 82 on the bullseyes.

I also have to add, the 'ol 82 is most certainly not a "better" rifle. We're comparing a semi against a single shot...I love Mossberg semis, and it may still prove to be the more accurate. It's sights are better/finer, craftsmanship too. Mossbergs from that era are crazy accurate! I'm soooooooo hoping it takes 1000 rds to decide!

I'm voting Mossberg as Archer Sam suggested, try the CCI Standard Velocity. They work great for mine (same model you have) Either way you'll have fun

had 'em both. went gopher shooting to try them both out. when I got home i sold the Cooey 82. Mossy still knocks 'em over and thousand thru her. Cannot seem to wear it out. Scoped it does well out to about 200 yards.

Can`t really say which gun was more accurate, I shot better with the Mossberg because it has a finer front sight than the Cooey. My eyes are not so good anymore so I have to say both guns are better than me. The next time I am out, I will try to get someone with better eyes than me to try both of them.
