Was wondering if the Model 60 used the "willow leaf" style front sight until the Model 600.
Did they possibly switch to the Model 600 style just before it was phased out ?? ( 1967 ish )
If anyone has a Model 60 handy, could you accurately measure the distance above the barrel to the top of a leaf type sight and post it. (esp if you are certain it is original to the gun)
Reasons behind these questions are because I am cleaning up a nice Model 60 which shoots and groups nice with all types/weights of ammo, but is consistently about
4 - 5 inches high even with the elevator lowered completely. Front sight is likely a replacement and is of the later style, but shorter than the blade on an early 1970's Model 600 I have had since new.
It does match the lower sight on a Cooey Ranger semi that I have, but am less sure of the Ranger's providence.
Thanks for any insight. (Guess that is a bit of an unintended pun)
Cheers
