Hey guys, need an assist here; my grandfather is reminiscing about his old Cooey Model 60 Repeater, and we got into a debate about how much these things cost. My question to you, specifically those who bought one of these new, is: What did the Cooey Model 60 cost in 1945, or thereabouts?

Cheers! Thank you!

Here's an 82. I'll take 2.

'45, I don't know. I can remember Juniors @$9.95, Seniors @$11.95, Repeaters @$17.95, shotguns @$19.95.

I bought my '60 used in 1986 for $ 40.00, after thousands of rounds I doubt I would have trouble selling it for the same or more now, as it still functions and shoots perfectly. Good investments those '60's :)

About $200 brand new from Savage...

What are you talking about? Savage does not, and to my knowledge, never has, made a copy/clone/version of the Cooey Model 60/600. Savage continues to manufacture the Model 64, which was originally produced by Cooey, followed by: Lakefield and Winchester, and perhaps a few others.

In the late 60s I know my model 600 was 43.00 I believe and a Lee Enfield could be bought for about the same price.

Like yours, my 600 in 1973 was about $50 new. My Winchester 37A 12 ga was $53 with tax brand new in 1974.

It's still one of the best shooting and reliable rimfires I have and it's in near mint condition. To me it's priceless because it was my first gun. But if it were for sale I think I would ask $170-$240 including the leather sling and Sportview scope.

So to answer the OP, depending on the condition, etc., even though it sold for $10 in 1940, it should be worth $100-$200 to someone.

Remember a 1969 Camaro SS-RS could be had for around $3700-$4200 in 1969. Today if it was in original showroom condition you couldn't touch it for under $50,000.

I asked my grandfather, and he thinks he paid about $7 for his Cooey Mohawk in the late 30's. I've still got it, and it still shoots great - may be due to the fact the barrel is probably 2 or 3 inches longer than a typical 60/600.

I can remember a Cooey single shot for around $10 bucks but that is a while ago.The fish man used to sell the repeaters for about $40 to $50 bucks delivered right to the farm if I remember right.
