I buggered up my old Model 60 Cooey...I admit it.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out how to get the bolt out, so could never give it a proper cleaning. Took it out for the first time this weekend and put a few rounds through it (pleasantly surprised me!).
After gopher shooting, me and a buddy were cleaning the toys, and I mentioned to the girl friends that we couldn't get the bolt out. They bet us they could get it out in under 5min...and they did, and made it look so simple
Gave it a good cleaning, but when I went to reassemble it, it doesn't stay together. Not a complicated action, bolt+firing pin hook onto the trigger, and the magazine hooks onto the front of the bolt so that when it opens the mag pushes the ejector up, and a new round in place.
Problem I'm running in to is that the lug that hooks the mag/ejector into the bolt, will not stay in place. The rifle cycles properly if you hold it upside-down.
Nothing was forced, and everything looks right...kinda looks like the carbon was holding it together.
Any thoughts? I know there are lots of old Cooeys out there, so someone has got to know something
