Well I'm hoping that maybe someone here can help remove this cloud of confusion for me. I recently acquired a Cooey Model 64A semi-automatic .22 cal from a friend that had started taking it apart with the intent of refinishing it. I am having issues figuring out if this is a correct 64a or if it's something someone has cobbled together out of spare parts many years ago. I can't find any pictures that even resemble it but I am able to locate pictures with pieces on different models.
The receiver is marked Model 64a, but the magazine (which was missing) looks like it's from a 64b, and then the stock after he stripped the bedliner off it that someone previously applied has checkering and a rabbit on it. I am also missing the screw that holds the receiver and barrel into the stock and can't seem to find a replacement. I know this is not a high dollar rifle but I am kinda fond of these old cooey rifles and they are great for teaching my kids with. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
