Hi everyone. I've got a Cooey model 71 in 3006 and I'd like to get an estimate of it's worth. I want to sell it on the EE but I can't find another on there to compare it to for a price. It is in really nice shape and has a solid walnut stock without cracks or scratches. The metal is excellent and the bore is shiny too. Anyone want to take a guess at how much I should ask? Thanks very much.

Looky nailed it! The Cooey 71 is unique, just like all the others like it. Claimed to be the poor man's Model 70, they shoot just as well and are a good working rifle.
In excellent shape...+/- $425.
 
DAMN!!!! I never even knew cooey made large caliber rifles... just thought they made 22's and shot guns... I love my 410 and 20 gauge cooeys
 
I sold one for $325 and it took a while. They are almost always good shooters. (much like the push-feed winchesters. Decried by all but infact often MUCH better shooters than any CRF gun) They are somewhat similar to the post 64 Winny's, but there are enough slight differences that not much is interchangable, including stocks. The only reason I sold mine was that I have a GLUT of 30 caliber rifles, and it wasn't getting any airtime.

That gun is the Canadian-made version of the Model 70 Ranger. Blind Magazine, push feed, 3 position safety.
350-375 is probably fair.
 
I came across a Cooey Model 71 in .308. It was deadly accurate. I have a nice old 71 in 30-06 that is much the same - accurate. I will be putting it on the EE soon.

They are a no nonsense rifle, made in Canada. Us good Canadians appreciate good stuff! :)
 
Let's not get carried away they were amided at the entry level market just like all the 300-400 $ guns today in there day they were $79.00 . That being said I would have one before a savage axis or some other pressed togeather rifle
