I have a nice little Cooey Model 75, which i have owned for many years, but not even thought about for a long time.

Now, I would like to clean it up a bit & use it again...but, over the years (in the interests of safe storage...) I have somehow completely misplaced the bolt.....:(

Any ideas on where I might find a replacement?

Hello and welcome aboard!

It would be worth your efforts to find the original...if that fails, there are bolts aout there. I've seen them at shows, and a few pass through the EE. When swapping bolts in your Cooey it's a bit of a lottery...some will swap directly, but many will require some fitting.

The only locking "lug" on these are the bolt handle, so you want one that fits properly.

Wake that 'ol gal up though. They are a fun, accurate .22 to own and shoot! Look through the Cooey makeover sticky for any required inspiration.
 
I have a #75 that will require some spot welding on the receiver to get my replacement bolt to lock up properly.

I had to replace the barrel on it (shank was under spec). Whoever had it was shooting it with the undersized shank barrel, and a bolt which did not have proper lockup (there was a gap of about .06" behind the locking lug on the bolt.

I since sold that bolt and purchased a replacement bolt, but I had the same issue with the new bolt.

I considered just spotwelding a bit more steel onto the bolt handle but there is braze there - not sure what that would do to the strength of the bolt handle/locking lug).

The other option is to carefully measure the gap behind the locking lug, remove the barrel, and face the front of the reciever shoulder to length, reinstall the barrel, and carry on.

The problem is that the barrel shank is on there with a very nice interference fit, don't want to futz around with it anymore.

When the time came to replace the barrel with an *IN-SPEC* barrel, the barrel take down screw failed (cracked down the middle of the slot cut).

I was glad to find your post on here! I found myself in the same boat, with the same gun, just recently. After completely tearing my house apart I have accepted that I will probably never find it. How did you make out on your quest? Did you find one? Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks man. Take 'er easy
