Cooey model 82 shell ejection failure

I've restored a nice model 82 Cooey and in spite of giving it a new ejector it still won't spit the shells out. I have two other similar Cooeys with the same problem. Anyone have any hints?
 
Are they getting over bent when installed? They should have strong tension to hold the spent casing to the bolt face.....or you have 3 very dirty rifles:)
 
Mine is the same. If you put the bot handle up and then pull straight back on the uh... #### knob? (whatever it is really called) It will eject fine, but if you pull back on the bolt handle it will leave the casing in the chamber. Never was able to find a fix for it, I just put it down to the gun being worn.
 
Mine will extract but you either need to snap the bolt handle back to get it to eject clear or tilt the gun to the right. Its 70 years old, it still goes bang so I don't complain.
 
Thanks for the tip but it didn't work for me. It gave me an idea though and applying a bit of pressure on the ejector with the tip of my index finger made a difference and it kicked out several spent shells I was testing it with.
 
call-to-arms: I have to agree with you on the age of these rifles. I've noticed that there is enough play in the bolt when the handle is pulled up that it actually moves the face of the bolt enough to the right to disengage the ejector hook. Not much one can do about that and yes, mine goes bang too and shoots very nice groups while it's at it. One fellow at my gun club apparently applied a very thin layer of solder somewhere on his bolt to tighten things up so I'm going to have a look at that.
 
I've seen this a few times where the bolt's diameter is slightly smaller than that of the receiver and there is some lateral play, enough that it will kick off the rim of the shell and not extract from the chamber. You can always try another bolt.
