That doesnt look modified to me. Looks like a original model 82 cadet trainer will full configuration. Getting pretty hard to find like that.

EDIT: Re-read your post, you said the other one is modified, I see that now. Its pretty hard to find a full length stock now days.
 
I just bought one in pretty good condition, the only thing I am missing is the rear peep sight. Anyone know where to find one?

Edit: I am looking at mine, it is close in serial number to yours. B5469. Has the Bolt knob been welded on that one? It looks like it in the pic...
 
The 82 in the bottom pic has had the front wood cut off. The barrel should not extend beyond the wood. If this is not the gun the OP was referring to as being modified, I'm afraid then they both have been modified.

Edit--it also looks like in the top right hand pic that the pistol grip on the other gun has been modified.

BarryF--keep watching ebay for a peep sight. There is a fellow from Ontario who has them on there from time to time. I got one last month from him (on ebay) for $21.00.
 
[2nd pics] Quite desirable as is though, everything has a market. A scoped 82 might be a very powerful force indeed. How many "scope a Cooey 75/39" threads are there? Now, slap that finery into a Schnabel (sp?)?

Full wood 82's are scarce, no doubt. I wonder how many of those (2nd pics) there are?
 
Unfortunately, both guns have been modified. For the one gun you need to get the front extension wood.
On the second gun I agree with the opinion that I don't think I would spend the money or time looking for a full stock. Sell it as is if you are selling it.

Now there's the proper front wood. Nice looking gun. It will be nice and complete when you find a peep sight.
Does your gun have the regular shiny blue finish or the duller parkerized finish? I have 2 military marked guns that are only a couple od hundred apart by the serial number and they both have a sort of parkerized finish.
 
It is blued. It is in very good condition, I bought it off of a fellow CGN'er.
edit: It is a pretty dull finish. I will take a few more pics and post em when I get a chance...
 
Could someone post me a pic of Just the peep sight? It would be greatly appreciated. I need to get one, those open irons are Terrible!
