The links do not work on my computer.Without seeing it, I would think in great condition, I would say 300.00 ,less as the condition goes down.By the way, the 28 gauge is usually the rarest in most anything.:)

Not pristine by a long shot, but still the hardest to find. Might stretch near $200, but further examination required.

Not nearly a $300 Cooey in the gun shows I attend. Of course, one can ask anything you want if it is yours.

I am always mystified why, when someone is discussing price of a gun or at a gun show, they don't clean up the rust and clean the bore of the gun.

All depends on how bad someone wants to add one to a collection. I was offered $300.00-$350.00 a couple of times for one. The links don't work for me either so I cannot comment on this one but if there are issues the price will certainly be lower.

thanks for the info so far.as for the links just hilite the link then right click then open in new window.
i would give it good condition.surface rust on outside and some rust where it was held while in the bush under the receiver.bore looks decent.minor surface rust at inside of bore at the muzzle.

Just my 2 cents, but anything that's got rust on it doesn't make my 'good condition' category...

And a Cooey in 28 gauge is a neat piece of Canadian kit.

Cheers
Jay

Way too much bluing loss and rust to value it any more then a generous $200. The rust has most likely pitted the metal in some areas. I would rate the gun closer to fair condition then good condition

i gave it good condition but mechanically i would say very good.the surface rust is minor and the only real rust that can be felt is under the receiver
where it was carried around.it has that "case hardened" look on the receiver and the barrel has a lot of "patina" (short for not much blueing left).
the stock is original to the gun as the s/n is stamped under the buttplate.this must be really old.anyone have a guess how old?

No older that 1948 because that's when Cooey shotguns first came out. It was going to be called the model 48 but Stevens (or someone) already had a model 48 so Cooey reversed the numbers. Start at $200.00.

great thanks all for the info.i already have a nibble so i just want to sell it as i have enough "toys" and don't even have any 28 ga. rounds.

i was planning to put it on the EE.i just wanted to know what it was worth.in my research on THIS site i got the info someone said it was 300 + $.
if you'd like the link i can find it again.
now that i'm a qualty agent at work i get ragged on more often too.nice to know that this site still hasn't changed.
p.s. i wouldn't talk about rules,etc..that ebonics(or what ever verbage you often use) is hard to understand sometimes.
sounds just like dirt mcgirt (sp?).
anyway thats all i'm going to say about that.i won't enter into a flame war with you.:bangHead:

Rust is NEGLECT, plain & simple. That cch look as you’re calling the rust is water damage imo. Sorry but the only thing on that gun better than fair condition is the wood. The metal is fair bordering on poor. I wouldn’t pay $100 for that gun never mind $300! And the 28 gauge is not “rare”, it’s just seen for sale less often but I have seen plenty cooey 28’s on the EE over the years.

There was a 28 gauge cooey, supposedly very minty, that sat on EE for a very long time for $300.00. I lust after one too, but I'm pretty sure I'll find one eventually around the 200 or less mark.

Much like the prices on the EE the descriptions of guns are often over inflated. This particular cooey is simply put in fair condition at best. Resonable selling price $90-125.

Might be only fair condition but, if it functions, at $90.00 to $125.00 it would be gone in 5 minutes. Which is okay if he is looking for a fast sale.
