Cooey Model 84

I have a H.W Cooey-Machine & Arms-Co.LTD Model 84 in 20 Gauge Full Choke. Serial # 00897**
Was made in Cobourg Ontario.

How much would this old single shot be worth?

From $50.00 rough to $175.00 give or take in excellent original condition with the average value around $125.00.

It stamped with 'H.W Cooey-Machine & Arms-Co. LTD'? That makes it pre-1961 vintage. It might, heavily on the 'might', be worth a bit more due to that, but not likely. There isn't much, if any, collector interest in any Cooey.

That's pretty low even for a Cooey, being a 20 gauge.

I paid $155 shipped for a Cooey 84 20ga in excellent condition and I was happy to get it for that price shipped.
Old 84's are getting hard to find in excellent shape.

No collector interest in Cooeys???? Put a Cooey shotgun on the table at a gun show and poof! its gone. Especially the older ones, Cooeys are always of interest. They are well built, very sleek design, and have a good Canadian name to them. Love 'em.

Yes, there are some models of Cooeys that are getting to be quite hard to find today and the prices are climbing somewhat on those. How often do you see a model 35,55, 62, Ace 2, Canuck Jr., Sniper, Sport, original rabbit, Cooey Specials or Bisley Sport listed for sale. Really the only common models today are the later guns such as the model 39, 75, 750, 60, 600 and the shotguns. However, try and find a nice model 84 in 28 gauge. Sure they don't bring Winchester prices but they have climbed in price just the same. Sure, if you aren't a collector then you wouldn't pay the prices but that goes for any make. And there are getting to be a few more Cooey collectors out there believe it or not.

I had a 20 gauge Cooey 840 that was aces. Sort of regret selling it. The only thing that bothered me about it were the pot metal parts, but the parts were sturdy as long as I had the gun.
