I picked up a Cooey single shot recently. It is a Ranger of indeterminant age. I am refinishing it but the metal work seems to have never been blued. Every piece is a smooth dull grey finish. Trigger group and all. Does anybody know if these were sold without blueing? I used to shoot these growingup but damned if I can remember if they were all blued or not.
Thanks

No, they were all blued. Bluing can change to various shades of color over time from plum to gray to brown to bare silver. Unless someone has parkerized it at some point. I have seen the model 82 military trainer that came with a parkerized type finish . I had 2 of them that were less than 100 digits apart on the serial number on the bottom of the pistol grip. However, every typical non military Cooey I have seen have the regular bluing.
