I have an old beat up ranger .22 s-l-lr single shot that was handed down to me, today I picked up another from the local canadian tire for $60. Anyone have anymore info on these old rimfires? I've read that they're a cooey and ranger name was only for marketing in hardware type stores here in canada. If so what model cooey? Both have a round screw that releases the barrel/trigger from the stock about 2 inch in front of the triger guard which makes it an awesome take down rimfire.

Thanks for any info

Ranger & Eatonia = Eatons (Sureshot = Sears, Hiawatha = McLeaods).

M39 if short barrel and actual screw
M75 if long barrel (27") and knurdled knob for takedown.

Should shoot fine when cleaned up.

I just picked up a model 60 from a board member, its very nice looking, great buy. Been researching how to put a scope on it. Seems to come down to side mount weaver #9 I think or top mount weaver #12. First option kinda bubbas the gun and second needs a gunsmith to drill and tap the receiver.

Any input on this would be much appreciated as I dont wanna mess up the gun but I would like a scope on it

On the model 600, there was (when looking from behind) on the left hand side, some fluch mounted screws on the upper left hand side. There was 4, and i had to wait a while but the gunskmith found a mounting bracket that mounted on the side of the reciever and the scope had a half moon flange which fit inside of it. It is not exactly above the center of the bolt but ofset to the left by about 1/4".
