Cooey Repeater pump ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum, but thought I would share my newest addition to my collection.

Anyways, I am a huge fan of Cooey's, own a number of their different 22 models, but when I saw this I had to get it. Paid a really great price for it too!!! To the best of my limited knowledge Cooey never made a "repeater" pump. The repeater was a bolt action. Who ever did this job had some serious imagination put into it. They turned this bolt action into a pump action.

Maybe someone else out there has heard of this before, but I never had. Let me know if you know something I don't.

Hard to find the model 35 on the net so far, but looks pretty darn close, all the receiver says is "Cooey Repeater 22 cal". Now, I have a Cooey repeater and it is obviously a bolt action. Is this model 35 rare???? Must be fairly uncommon, I never even knew Cooey made a pump 22. But like I said I'm not the most knowledgeable guy out there thats for sure.

Anyone know of a good website for Cooey info, as well????? Winchester is of no help at all, since it was over 40 years ago they bought them....

To add pics to your message from photobucket you need to copy and paste the IMG code from the main pic page of the photo or photo's you want to post into the message you want to post. You'll see codes to the left of the picture you uploaded to the page. Took me a bit to figure it out, and found it to be easier than I thought.

I'll help you out with a couple of your pics.

Hey, thanks for the advise and posting those pics for me.....I'll try with this msg to post the rest..

The rifle needs a little cleaning, then off to the range. I cant wait to try it out. The bore is just perfect.

You want $300 for a rifle you believed was a hack job by a gunsmith? That doesn't make it worth more than a normal cooey, it makes it worth less.
If it is a real model 35, then, maybe.
 
I agree, any Cooey that was made into a pump other than from the factory would be worth zero to anyone else. However, as I tried to tell the Op awhile ago, this is not a rare custom gun. It is indeed a Cooey model 35 pump. Although called the model 35, many of them were not marked with the model number on them. The gun in question is an early model 35 with the rounded pistol grip. The 35 had a major flaw, that being most of them had cracked stocks from the forearm smacking into them when pumped. One can clearly see that the stock on this gun is cracked. The metal on the front of the stock was put there by someone to stop further damage. The metal isn't factory nor a custom job but rather a repair. I have one pretty much the same way except mine is in better condition. Mine also has a fine crack but someone at some point put a piece of brass inside the forearm for support where it can't be seen from the outside. All in all, the gun in question is not rare but is quite uncommon today. Many did not survive because of the design flaw and one would be hard pressed to find a model 35 that the stock is not cracked on (although there are some out there). As far as price, the $300.00 is in the ball park (on the high side) provided it is in shooting condition. But still, it will have to most likely be a Cooey collector who will buy it for that as one would have a tough time finding parts if the gun was used as a shooter and it happened to break.

No offence was meant, truly ! :redface:

I just meant that the Cooey 35 (and the type of cracks/splits common to the model) is so distinctive-looking that if a picture of a factory one was compared to a "fake-lookalike" job :yingyang: , the difference would be readily visible and apparent....:)
 
Thanks for the info there fellas. Glad to see a known 35 and know that is in fact what I have here. I like it. Just dont use it often. It shoots very well. It is very accurate. Ive never seen a known 35 before thiw one only the bolt action repeater and many parts are interchangeable and it is marked repeater like the bolt.actions I have.

As for the price. I believe i can ask for whatever price I want. If you dont like my price then dont buy it. No bother much to me really. Thanks to those that are helpful here and not just critics.
