I just grabbed a cooey rifle off of someone at work that I am yet to see in person. He has said that the wood is rough but still serviceable. In the event that I deem it to be a replacement need does anyone know of a source online where I can get a stock? .22 cal bolt action, single shot. I know that doesn't tell you much... Lol

Any help would be appreciated.

The usual price at a gunshow for a Cooey that you describe, is $50 to $75.
Buy another one, put the best two pieces together, then sell the spare bolt to a vendor at the show for $25 and still have some spare parts, or at least, a stock to play with and see what you can make it look like.

The 60, and the later produced 600, were bolt action repeaters. The 39, 75, 750 and 82 were bolt action single shots. The 64 series were semi-automatic, detachable magazine, repeaters.
Some parts between similar actions are interchangeable, but not all.

The repeater was sold at sears or simpson sears at my father n law calls it.
Yes it's a bolt action like the 60. However it doesn't say cooey on the gun!

If it was made for Sears it won't say Cooey on it. It should say Sure Shot but it's the same gun---unless it is a version after Winchester took over. Then it could be the same as the 600. I'm not sure if stocks are interchangable between the model 60 and 600, I never tried them.

Stocks are dif between the 60 and 600.The bolt to hold action into stock is in a dif position and mag tubes are a dif lenght as well.Everything else is just a 60.

I picked it up last night, paid 60 bucks for it. It's a model 39. The wood really isn't in too bad of shape so I am going to strip it down and refinish it because the stain itself does look atrocious. As for the metal, I'm going to sandblast it and duracoat it unless someone else has suggestions.

Not a bad rifle to learn how to refinish stuff on before I start getting into more pricier projects down the road.
