Hi folks. I brt this has been covered many times, but I am new here so any help would be appreciated greatly. I just striped and refurbished a old cooey 600. I am very happy on how it looks and even more surprised on how this cheap old rifle shoots. It has holes for a side mount scope. Can someone advise on what hardware I need and point me in the right direction to get it. I quick online search has led me to a weaver number 2 mount. I just would like some feedback from one of you that that's scoped this cool rifle.

Thanks for reading

Derek

Sure, P&D in edmonton. They just helped my father n law with his cooey repeter. $19 for the side mount and $32 for the scopemount/rings both weaver made iirc. They have too different size mounts for the scope. The cooey can handle a 40mm objective lens. 1" scope. His pronghorn tasco mounted with a few mm clearance. Looks good and but his iron sights needed to be taken off to fit the mount.

Depends on if you want the original type of side mount that it would have had back in the day or the newer style ones. I have a 600 and it is wearing a vintage JC Higgins (Weaver B4) scope in a vintage weaver N2 mount. With the original mount, one half of the rings are an integral part of the mount. They are often on ebay. I bought 4 of them off of there.
