Cooey spent shell extractors not working.

I have two single shot Cooeys, models 75 and 78, and neither one will expel the spent shells, or even pull them out of the chamber. The extractors don't appear worn to me and are nice and tight against the bolt but for some reason won't hook the rim of the shell when the bolt is withdrawn.

Make sure the throat of the chamber is clean. There could be build up of old powder/dirt residue. It may look ok but scrape around the seating area of the shell and see if you remove any dirt etc. Also, you wouldn't have the 2 bolts mixed up would you. Often another bolt will work in another gun, but other times it won't. Even though the extractor may look ok, maybe they need replacing or the bolt a good cleaning.
