cooey sure shot

I just bought a cooey single shot in 12 guage, it s a sure shot case hardened. Anyone know anything about them?

Made for Sears by Cooey. Is it the earlier model 84 type or the later model 840?

I believe is an 84, the hinge is all steel.

Quite likely it is an 84. However, the first model 840's after Winchester took over in 1961 were also steel. Once old stock was used up the cost cutting began.
