Generally pretty accurate. I've got two model 39's, one is accurate, the other is in the "shooting into space" contest. Single shots seem to come in around a hundred bucks, while the tube feeds are usually around 150. You have to watch out for the extractors, it's probably the first question you should ask when buying. I got one off EE, very nice over all gun, but the extractor was pooched. The old 64 semi's were good guns, I had two of them. The older ones don't really have a safety, just a spot to lock the bolt at before contact with the cartridge. Don't think I'd pay more than 150 for a nice one.
Anyway, they're lots of fun, especially if you start refinishing the stocks. I like shooting shorts too one of the little 39's really likes them. I usually cary a 39 single shot when I go snowshoeing or x country skiing, they're used to getting slapped around and don't complain much.
