Did Cooey 'repeaters' only come with tube magazines?
I'm familiar with the bolt action single shot models and the under barrel tube mags but did they ever come with other configurations? I saw one 'pump' model but know nothing about them, the bolt action seems to be the common one

It was the thing back then. I remember as pre teen looking over the 22s in the local community store discussing that "clips" were dumb because they got lost. Of course all we could ever afford was the single shot after a summer of bottle picking but dream was there.

I just got a 64 for Christmas from my girlfriend. It's branded a SEARS 6C, or something similar (Need my glasses). Just cleaned it all up to take North to play with this weeked! I can't wait! It even came with 2 mags!

There's nothing more 'Canadian' than a Cooey.....I remember visiting a farm in Maple Creek Saskatchewan and being more interested in gophers than the farmers daughter...and every barn had a Cooey hanging on a nail....and that was 'safe storage' too, you knew better than to touch it....and any kid complaining to the teacher or cops he got a strapping for touching a gun without permission would probably earn another one when the cop congratulated the old man for doing it and told him he wished there were more fathers like that..make his job a lot easier...ah,the memories old Cooeys bring back...

We need to go back to those simpler times. There is way too much codling of the mamby pamby over sensitive youth today. There needs to be more accountability.

Ha ha yup I remember the same thing. However don't know about you but we were sure in awe and totally jealous of anyone who did have a semi auto. Cause that was just too cool even though we would never have been able to afford the ammo even at 89 cents a box for Gevelot. A couple guys that did have semi autos both were 10-22 Rugers were always out of ammo and trying to bum off of the rest of us. Worked for a while as it was fun to let 10 rounds off in seconds but then no more shooting for another week till we got payed for doing chores.

makes me wonder as to the first gun I ever shot was- it had box magazine, probably 10 rounds but was only loaded to 5 and was " youth sized"- bolt action repeater, looked like a cooey but the barrel was thinner and open sights- was owned by one of the fellas in the fire department- had cooeys funny knob cocker on the back end-anyway, it was great fun - this was back in 64-65- any ideas?- oh yea, it was a take down model with that big old nut on the bottom

you really need to define north - in the west it means Yellowknife or whitehorse

89 cents was expensive for 22 shells. We used to get Imperial and CIL before that for less then 50 cents. Thee was like 5 cents difference between shorts, longs and long rifle.

Not where I was in the late 60's. imperial was top dog and they were over a buck a box. Had to cooper a lot of grain cars to make enough to buy them. Gevelot, Whizbangs and Winchester were the affordable ones for us.
