Check out these cool looking bolt handles. I ordered the Spike (Second in from the left) and the Classic With Dome (Second in from the right).

The are, I believe, 3/8" in diameter and 3/4" in lenght. However, they do different sizes so I custom ordered both of mine .500" in diameter and 1.25" in lenght.

Very nice!

How much are those in their original size and how much more did you have to dish out to have them custom make them for you? And, Do they make them so they are "drop-in" mods for the 10-22? More-so my Krink ? :D

Cheerz bud,

Rob

No extra charge to have their dimensions enlarged. I'm not sure but there could be a charge if you wanted them to build one to a design you have in mind.

It is ready to be dropped in, it comes on a factory Ruger 10/22 guide rod and spring. Drop in and go.

Oh, I paid $21.95 USD each.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember something about the handle mass affecting the cycling of the bolt. I wonder if they all weigh similar to the stock handle. It seems to me somebody was changing the handle weight to accomodate the difference in gas pressure of the 10/17. I suspect the .22 LR is less sensitive to such things, but it still makes me curious. Look nice though.

A company out of Maryland called Dirtybore. www.dirtybore.com

Dh79, I agree with you. I have read that same discussion on another forum and it is ture. I believe the dimensions that I am having mine made at will not effect it, hopefully. I guessing if they would, the fellows at dirtybore would have suggested against it. I am actually going to send them an email right now asking that question. Thanks

Thanks. I looked that up off the pic you posted but its a pretty useless site. Where did you get the pic you posted is there somewhere else you can ger the details on-line?

I'd like to get one in black and a bit longer, like what you are getting (pending the response form your email ;) )

I got the pic from their website at this address:

I paid via (FRAUD ALERT) and ordered by email. I delt with a fellow named Bernie who has been very helpful and quick to respond to my emails.

Dirtybore posted a few threads on rimfirecentral. There was a pic of a big bolt handle they did up and some comments were to the effect of whether or not it would cycle o.k.

They assured everyone that they have it all down to a science so it looks like they have considered this before. I will check my home email at lunch and post their reply.

Here is a pic of the large bolt handle I was referring to above. They also do matching extended mag release's and neat bolt mods.

Who makes them?

A quick FYI post for anyone who likes
this custom look,
I have made a couple of these, one for my 10/22
and one or two others for people who wanted one.
(similar design to the ones posted).
I used titanium and the light weight doesn't
seem to effect the cycling of the bolt.

That's all, back to thread. .

You should post some of your work WW.

Yeah, tell me about it.
I'm still relativley new here, but can't figure out how to
get a picture onto the site.:bangHead: they always seem to be to big.
I read the 'intruction' thread about it, but. . .
Things that run on electricity aren't my specialty,
things that run on gunpowder, are.

Here was his response to my emailed question: "The aluminum is so light weight that the little I add will do nothing to the function of your rifle. If it doesn't work I will refund your funds or fix the handles at no charge".

Sounds good to me. Custome service is great from dirtybore.
