5.45x39 would be great, there is a large quantity of surplus available on the world market. Only reason it's not here is because the main platform that shoots it was prohibited nearly 20 years ago. A bit chicken and the egg as how do you start the popularity, gun or ammunition first? I don't see why one of our larger importers couldn't secure both at the same time.

Yeah, the Russians have 17 million AK-74s in inventory, to put that into perspective that's a 70% larger number than the total number of AR-15s in existance, add the 5.45 AKs used by ex Soviet and ex Warsaw Pact states and there must be LOTS of 5.45 surplus out there.
