cool russian SKS45 bullpup

Colleague, kind daypart!:)
step by step…
to Calum:
On the Russian law the army carbine of SKS before a sale a civilian passes next changes;
- a bayonet and bracket of fixing of bayonet is cut away;
- in a barrel drill opening in which press a hard-tempered steel twig the diameter of 1 mm. (ballistic mark). A ballistic mark slightly scratches a bullet. If a bullet will not collapse at the criminal use of weapon - police sees that shot is fired a from the civil version of SKS, but not from a carbine stolen from a state arsenal (it is possible to think, that by him it will become easy from this knowledge...);
- from a carbine take off a sight-leaf marked out to 1000 meters and substitute it by a sight-leaf marked out to 300 meters.
Only not ask me why the all above enumerated is done... It nobody knows in Russia...
One time in 5 years all weapon with the threaded barrel passes re-registering in a police. The control game shooting is done, and a bullet and shell is kept in the special constabulary department (pulegil'zoteka).
Depending on the state a civil version of SKS is for sale from 200 to 400 USD and considered the most accessible and practical weapon of this caliber (civil versions on a base AK are for sale considerably dearer).

to curtton:

on a picture long trigger traction is visible which ends with an arch.

An arch affects shock-trigger mechanism in a place marked a pointer.

H Wally is refering to modifying rifles into a bullpump like yours.
Laws here prohibit making a bullpump like yours.
Legal bullpumps must be made at the factory like that.
Your design cannot be done here, but it is very interesting.
Thanks for joining the group.

thats a pretty strict system . over here we can get an unmolested russian SKS45 at $225 and maybe (hopefully ) late this year we will have some more at $169 . we are darn lucky .

honestly i was expecting you to say you can buy the SKS at $100 and cheaper .

It can be necessary to look not "That" forbids the law of Canada, and " As" it forbids. I will explain the idea.
The Russian law is forbidden by "making alteration in the construction of basic parts of weapon" (barrel, breech-block, breech-block frame, barrel box, shock-trigger mechanism). But I did not make alteration in the "construction of basic parts" - in a flow 5 minutes my bullpup returns here in such kind (it is first-ever changes which I did with the SKS):

On the Russian forum of Guns.ru (http://talks.guns.ru/forummessage/54/95823.html) we discussed legality of my construction of bullpup and colleagues which a criminal expert-lawyer was among much, came to the conclusion, that a law is not broken.
I am convinced, that an enthusiastic man will be always able to attain the purpose not breaking the law. It is necessary only very attentively to read this law.;)

That's what I was thinking. $200-$400USD is probably what I'd expect to pay here for a Un-bubba'd Russian SKS.
Odd they don't trust people to have a bayonet either.

I could assume, but I have to ask. The way this system would have to work in canada would be to make it so the gun cannot work without it's stock?

For some reason I have this image of after market receiver covers with skeletal frame (Sten like) buttocks welded on. :eek: :D

Sounds like they actually have stricter laws than we do in some ways.

Also sounds like he did a similar thing as Kasat did with his modified SVT to SVD conversion, where no parts where actually permanently modified.

Thinking outside the box is what's making these projects work - I love it!
