That really depends on the CFC, right now it seems new FRTs are not moving on black style guns.

I like that they've changed the magazine release, but it still lacks a full-length top rail - and I'm not sure if they've made any improvements to the trigger. Just over 23" overall length is really nice with a 13" barrel, though. Some of these configurations look like Frankenstein's creations, but I guess if they're functional...
FRT is already issued for tavors. also there are already restricted barrels in canada for the tavors. i wouldnt forsee a problem with the cfc allowing the X95's tavors in with a short barrel. but you never know with those ass clowns. it would be nice if IWI would send a few our way.
IIRC each model gets a new FRT so the x95 wouldn't fall under the TAR21 FRT.
The MTAR21 or Micro Tavor used to be the shortest member of Tavor family,very much like the Micro Galil and the Micro Uzi.
The Micro Tavor was further refined and today is the bases for the X95 familly that includes different versions with barrel leghts of 7,11,13,15 and 18 inces.
The basic X95 has full auto option, IDF versions are semi auto only.
1.Shorter overall length.
2.Lighter.
3.Shorter length of pull.
4.The butt stock is less bulky ( height ) .
5.The position of the mag release and the charging handle allow quicker reloads and stoppage clearance.
6.The shape and size of the bolt release reduce the chances of premature/accidental bolt release.
7.The handguard+charging handle location allows rail attachment on all sides unlike tavor.
8.The handguard +charging handle location on the allows the barrel to free float.
9.Handguard overheats much slower.
10.The handguard allows the use of telescopic sound suppressors
or shorter barrels than 13 inches with regular sound suppressors.
11.The safety switch is easier to operate.(45 degrees)
12.You can remove the pistol grip, so you have the choice of regular or oversized trigger guard.
13.Pistol grip allows routing of laser/light etc. switch into the pistol grip for one handed operation.
14.Redesigned spring loaded charging handle.
15.Version with charging handles on both sides available.
16.Magazine drops free.
I think they did TRY to "revamp" a thing or two...just sayn'

I thought the benefit to the Tavor was its compact size and full length barrel. So why the need for shorter barrels? Kind of defeats the purpose of the bullpup design. Not to mention that 7.5" barrels provide zero fragmentation and/or tumbling of the projectile, making the Tavor an oversized glorified subgun. You might as well run the mini or micro uzi. On a final note, I thought the LOP was just fine on the original design. Who needs a shorter or adjustable length of pull?

The 7 inch barrel is 9mm. The shortest 5.56 is 13 inches.
About LOP-Body armor,small people,women,etc.
So the 7.5" Tavor IS an over sized sub gun?
As for the LOP, I'm aware of the reasons behind adjustability, which the Tavor (amongst others) distinctly lacks.

Interestingly enough I saw a full auto Tavor at CFB Borden this summer while attending the CQB service rifle match at the range beside us. A rep from Colt Canada was there with a bunch of weird full auto stuff (everything from sten guns to Tavor's...weird) and it was among the mishmash selection of guns they were goofing around with. What really surprised me was that it was the 'sniper' model like our Tar21, but that the barrel appeared to be a thicker bull barrel shape, so it didnt contour down behind the flash hider at all.
Im still kicking myself for not taking a picture, but if a thicker target barrel was available Id consider buying one.
