My first thought as well !
With destructive pests such as these the rules of fair chase should be discarded along with magazine capacity be it pump semi bolt or lever action.

-Driving over live animals
-shooting on a roadway towards a corner
-pumping pigs full of lead and them running off
I get they are a nuisance, but Holy #### are they wasting a bunch of meat on top of being unsafe

Wasted meat is the norm for a lot pig hunting operations. Its not like people are harvesting the meat from a pig that is shot from a helicopter in the mid-day Texas heat...
Of course, hunting does pretty much sweet fk all to manage pig populations, you kill a few, the rest scatter. From what I've heard trapping is the only way to REALLY impact their numbers, and you've got to get good or else you'll just make them trap shy.
